The 248th ACS National Meeting will be held in San Francisco, August 10-14, 2014. There will be 611 oral presentations and 444 posters for a near-record total of 1055 papers. Highlights include the Arthur C. Cope and Arthur C. Cope Scholars Awards Symposium, the Tetrahedron Prize for Creativity in Organic Chemistry, the Journal of Organic Chemistry and Organic Letters Lectureship Symposium, the 2014 Organometallics Symposium and symposia on Process Chemistry: The Role of Organic Chemistry in Early Clinical Drug Development, Small Splash, Big Waves: Research at Primarily Undergraduate Institutions, Synthetic Chemical Biology, Chemical Approaches Toward Understanding and Reprogramming RNA, Total Synthesis as a Driver of Synthetic Innovation, and Emerging Frontiers in Synthesis: Transformative Advances in Reagent Based Organic Synthesis. The Wednesday evening ORGN–MEDI Poster Session and Social Event in San Francisco will be held in the Moscone Convention Center, Gateway Ballroom, beginning at 7 pm. Refreshments will be provided. The band Electric Strawberry will play from 8:30-10:30 pm.
