ACS has announced significant audiovisual equipment changes for the Technical sessions at the Fall 2017 ACS National Meeting in Washington, DC (https://www.acs.org/content/acs/en/meetings/fall-2017/whats-new.html). These include:
- Windows users will not be able to use their personal computer-one will be supplied in the room. They must bring their presentation(s) on a USB drive. Digital documents will be saved on host computers.
- Mac uses will only have access to HDMI connections (adapters will not be provided). VGA will not be supplied.
- The resolution of the supplied computer will be 1920×1080 resolution (16:9 aspect ratio).
As a backup strategy for anyone who feels uncomfortable, there are a variety of adapters out there to convert Lightning to HDMI (iPhone) or mini USB to HDMI (Android), so people can likely present from phones/tablets.
