The Organic Division will provide funding and programming support for organizing organic chemistry-related symposia at ACS Regional Meetings. Two types of symposia will be supported:

Cope Scholar Symposium. Organizers of Regional Meetings are offered the support of the Division to organize an organic chemistry-related symposium. One of the ten Arthur C. Cope Scholar Award recipients will be asked to serve as the keynote speaker (Cope Award Scholar to be selected by the Regional Meeting organizers). It is expected that the remaining speakers in the symposium will be chosen to complement the presentation and research focus of the keynote speaker, but this will be flexible, depending on the needs of the Regional Meeting. The organizers of the Regional Meeting will handle organization of the symposium, optionally with support from the Division. We hope that having the participation of a Cope Scholar will assist in recruiting other speakers, and will help draw attention and attendance to Regional Meetings. The Organic Division will pay up to $1500 in verifiable expenses (travel, housing, etc.) for the Cope Scholar symposium.

Organic Chemistry Related Symposium. Organic Chemistry Related Symposium. Organizers of Regional Meetings are offered the support of the Division to organize an organic chemistry-related symposium. For consideration of support the organizers are asked to send to the Regional Meeting Coordinator the topic of the symposium and a projected list of speakers. The Organic Division will pay up to $1500 in verifiable expenses (travel, housing, etc.) for the symposium.

Each symposium will acknowledge Organic Division support by direct reference. The Organic Division will provide a PowerPoint slide for this purpose.
