Rules of Eligibility.
Nominees must be members of the Organic Division of the American Chemical Society who have made outstanding contributions to both teaching and research. Teaching should be considered in the broadest sense, including of professional chemists, the dissemination of information about chemistry to prospective chemists, to members of the profession, to students in other areas and to the general public. A nominee must also have accomplished outstanding creative work in any area of organic chemistry. Nominations should emphasize both the nominee's teaching and research contributions.
A nomination document should include:
-
A letter of not more than 1000 words containing an evaluation of the nominee's accomplishments and a specific identification of the work recognized
-
A biographical sketch, including date of birth
-
A list of publications and patents by the nominee

Notes to authors who wish to submit a paper for an ACS meeting in one of the Organic Division Sponsored sessions:
-
Please record your ID# and Password (in left upper corner). Use these to re-access your abstract if you submit your abstract in more than one session or need to edit it. This will help avoid duplicate submissions and simplify communications.
-
The graphics appear much clearer in the book of abstracts if images are submitted as a .gif file saved directly from the drawing program, and it is suggested that you draw the structure 4 times larger than you normally would before saving it as a gif file.
-
The title is to be in lower case except for the first word in the title, the first word after a colon and proper names or acronyms.
-
Please check that authors from the same institution have the same address to avoid redundant addresses in the abstract. There is a radiobutton as new authors are added to simplify the process.
-
If multiple papers are being submitted please indicate this in the comments so that scheduling conflicts can be avoided.
-
Double check that the oral/poster radiobutton and session agree with the format of the presentation to avoid confusion.
-
Please read the instructions to authors before submitting abstracts. This will save you and the organizers time and effort in preparing the program.
